Mumbai has a lot of resorts that are great for a one day getaway or even an over night stay. Most of the resorts are in Gorai , Madh island , Uttan , Vasai , Virar , Panvel , Karjat most of them are on the outskirts of the city and closer to the beaches as well.
The highlight of such resorts are mainly the pools, water slides, great food and a relaxing getaway from the hustle of city life along with ur family, friends, school picnics or ur darling sweethearts :)
But its always tough to choose the best and decent one that is pocket friendly , clean or even one that is worth ur time and money spent on that day.. so here I am giving you a personal brief on one of the resorts visited in May.
SAINA RESORT - Marve Madh Island road www.sainaresort.com
The nearest railway station is Malad and at a distance of approx 13 Kms to the resort . Auto rickshaws are available outside the station, or the convenient way is to drive down or hire a pvt vehicle .
The resort although located in the interiors is not at all hard to find. The best landmark would be behind the Madh church.
So we were a group of 15 ppl (family and friends) and we booked one big AC room just to keep our bags and retreat in the afternoon for a while. Although one room for 15 ppl might seem too small the room was quite spacious and we were not cramped up. The property is huge but sadly not maintained.
The place offers breakfast , lunch and tea at an all inclusive rate off Rs 1050. The food, not great but wasnt bad too.
As we reached the resort almost at the end of breakfast time which was 11 am they still accomadated us but that was till there, post that it was quite a rushed up scenario and the staff was quite rude and very less accomadating. Although there wasnt much crowd, we were made to rush into things which i personally feel could be avoided as there were only few to attend to.
It was disappointing to know that the water slides were open till 1.30/2 in the afternoon post that, the section was closed and only one pool was open for all forcing us to just stay in our room and we did make the most of that with some great singing and dancing.
So time flew by with our own shenanigans and again we were made to rush for tea as we had to vacate the place by 6 pm. They insisted that tea would be served, only if we bring our bags from the room and leave immediately from the dining area, which i found unprofessional as we had infants and senior citizens too.
So overall the place as a whole would have been more enjoyable if they were more accomadating to their customers needs.

Although this wasn't a great experience, there have been other resorts that were great. Keep watching this space for my next blog post on ELYSIUM ESTATE near APTA (PANVEL) which was a wonderful place.
